The Love Shack
The Love Shack was originally built as a mobile showroom, mostly so that I didn’t have to keep lugging heavy furniture and metal work around to shows and fairs.
It is fully functional as a small annex/studio/den/office and is suitable for all year round use being fully insulated, with a wood burner for heating.
It was built with a honey comb timber floor, and steel uprights and brackets. The body is laminated for extra strength, and the roof is made with oak rafters and spalted beach ceiling boards.
A rubber membrane keeps the building waterproof from above, and allows the use of a soil and sedum covering. The outside is clad in tiles made from recycled rubber and aluminium.
The Shack is designed to be strong enough to be picked up and moved around, sitting on a custom built trailer for travelling. It is perfect for putting on a barge, or in a tree, or simply used as a caravan.
It is available to hire for all manner of functions and occasions, from wedding nights, to guest accommodation, or maybe as an amazing glamping venue. It could go anywhere and be anything, and as with all true fantasy houses, it’s uses are only limited to your imagination.
