The Old Piggery, South Devon
The Old Piggery in South Devon was designed as an annex to a property in a beautiful secluded valley. The end wall of the piggery had mostly collapsed into a small river that ran beside the property, and the roof was barely holding itself up.
The stonework was repaired with lime mortar, and a new roof was designed to increase the height of the room and add an interesting curve to the roof.
Once again the roof was covered with sedum, providing excellent insulation and a living cover of changing colour.
